Candy boxes hold hard sweets, gummies, mints, toffees and pick-and-mix. Most are small folding cartons with tuck ends, often with an inner bag or wrapped sweets inside, because sugar picks up moisture from the air and turns sticky. Their job on a shelf is to stand out in a crowded, colourful aisle.

Stand out on a busy shelf.
Artwork and materialsConfectionery aisles are bright and crowded, so we lead with a strong colour block, a large product name and a picture of the sweets. Our packaging guides cover sizing, materials, print, and cost in more depth.
Front, allergens and date
We build the front for impact at a distance, plan the allergen panel from the start, and leave clear space for a date sticker and any hang tab.
Explore print and finishesBoxboard, kraft and foil
Folding boxboard gives bright, high-impact colour, kraft board suits a traditional sweet shop look, and metallised or foil board makes a gift selection shine. A coated inside keeps the surface clean.

Cost factorsEvery project is quoted individually. These are the choices that move the price on almost every order.
- Quantity
- Small cartons are cheap per unit at volume, but setup dominates on short runs.
- Special boards
- Metallised and foil boards cost more than plain boxboard.
- Display features
- Hang tabs, tear-off fronts and counter trays add die-cutting and folding steps.
- Many spot colours and finishes add plates and passes.
Choosing this format
Sugar and humidity
Hard sweets and gummies draw moisture from the air, so the carton is rarely the only barrier.
Unwrapped sweets left in a plain carton can turn sticky and clump in damp conditions. That is why candy boxes usually hold individually wrapped sweets or a sealed inner bag, with the box doing the job of display and protection from crushing.

Standing out on a busy shelf
Confectionery aisles are bright, so contrast and a clear shape count for more than detail.
A strong colour block, a large product name and a picture of the sweets work at a distance. Windows that show the real product help with gummies and boiled sweets, which sell on colour.
For impulse sales at a till, small cartons often go into a printed counter display tray that opens from the shipping case.
From party favours to gift selections
Small favour boxes and larger selection boxes are the same idea at different scales.
Favour boxes for weddings and parties hold a few sweets and are often personalised. Gift selections use larger cartons or a lid-and-base box with a divider, so different sweets stay apart. Tell us what goes in a selection and we size each section of the divider to it.
Questions about candy boxes.
Box style FAQsWe’ll confirm the exact details that apply to your structure and volume.
Read all frequently asked questionsCan loose sweets go straight into a candy box?+
Yes. We give candy boxes an inside surface made for food and confirm the board and coating are suitable for direct food contact before production. Unwrapped gummies and boiled sweets can still stick to board in damp air, so for those we recommend a clear inner bag, which also keeps them fresh. Wrapped sweets go straight in.
Can you size a candy box for a set weight of sweets?+
Yes. Mints, gummies and toffees fill space very differently, so we size from your real product. Weigh out the target amount, pour it into a measuring jug and send us the volume along with the size of a typical piece. We make the box with a little room so the flap closes without strain, and we can resize it if a recipe changes.
Can a candy box have a hang tab for display hooks?+
Yes. We make the hang tab from the same board as the box, folded double or glued for strength, with a punched hole or slot that fits standard display hooks. For heavier boxes we use a thicker board or a reinforced tab, so the tab carries the full box for weeks on the hook.
Is there room for ingredients and allergens on a candy box?+
Yes. Small candy boxes have little space, so we plan the information panel before the artwork. Tell us what the label must include, such as ingredients, allergens and net weight, and we lay it out on the proof. We can also leave a clear spot for a best-before date added later by sticker or stamp.
