Which box suits each product in a wellness range?
Most wellness ranges mix bars, bottles, candles and accessories, so we match a box style to each product and tie them together with one design.
Bars of soap go in Custom Soap Boxes, as a carton or a sleeve. Small amber oil bottles sit in Custom Essential Oil Boxes, singly or in a row. Bath bombs suit Custom Bath Bomb Boxes, which hold a round or shaped bomb still. Candles go in Custom Candle Boxes, with an insert for a glass jar. Light accessories such as straps, bands and eye pillows suit Custom Folding Cartons, and a herbal tea blend sold alongside the range fits Custom Tea Boxes.
Each box is drawn around its own product, but we keep the colours, type and layout the same across all of them, so a shopper sees one brand rather than a shelf of unrelated boxes.
How do you put a candle, an oil and a soap into one self-care kit?
We make the kit with a fitted insert that gives every item its own cell, so nothing knocks against anything else on the way.
A self-care kit is usually a handful of products of different weights and shapes. We cut a Die Cut Insert or a Cardboard Insert to the outline of each one, and place the heaviest pieces, such as a jar candle or a bath salt jar, at the base or ends of the tray so the box stays balanced in the hand.
For a kit that is posted, Custom Mailer Boxes give a printed reveal when the lid lifts and close with a tuck front and locking ears. For a kit sold as a premium gift, Rigid Gift Boxes or Custom Drawer Boxes give a heavier feel and a slower opening.
- One cell per item, sized to that item
- Heaviest pieces at the base or ends of the tray
- Strongly scented items wrapped so each keeps its own scent
Can shoppers smell the product without opening the box?
Yes, if you want them to. We can die cut small scent holes or a shaped cut-out in a soap box, or keep the box closed to hold the fragrance in.
Scent holes suit bars that sell quickly, because shoppers can pick them up and smell them straight away. For stock that will sit for longer, we recommend a closed carton or a small window, which keeps dust out and the fragrance in while the bar still shows.
Candles behave a little differently. Uncoated board takes in some fragrance from the wax, so a candle box often carries a faint scent of its own. If you would rather the board stays clean, we use a coated board or an insert between the glass and the walls.
What packaging suits yoga straps, resistance bands and fitness accessories?
Light, soft accessories suit a printed folding carton or a sleeve, and anything sold online travels well in a mailer box.
Straps, bands and eye pillows fold small and weigh little, so a Custom Folding Carton or Custom Sleeve Boxes are enough to carry your brand and the product name. Where a shop hangs them on a peg, Custom Hang Tab Boxes add a die-cut hang tab at the top.
Heavier pieces such as blocks, or a set of several accessories, go in Custom Mailer Boxes in corrugated board, which hold their shape in the post. Tell us how each item is folded or rolled when it goes in the box, and we size the box around it packed, not laid flat.
Where does the product wording go on a wellness box?
We give your directions, ingredients and any warnings their own panel, so the front stays calm and uncluttered.
A wellness box works best when the front carries just the brand, the product name and one short line, and everything else sits on the back or sides. We plan the panels around the text you need to include first, then set your branding around it on the digital proof.
We set your wording exactly as you supply it. Because the words on a wellness product matter, we recommend you settle the final text before artwork starts, so the layout is built around it rather than squeezed in at the end.
Can a spa, studio or wellness shop sell my products from the counter?
Yes. We make Custom Display Boxes that ship flat, fold up quickly and hold your products upright beside the till.
Counter displays suit small, frequent buys such as soap bars, oil rollers, bath bombs and lip balms. We design the tray with a front lip set to your product's height, and add dividers for tall or narrow items so each one keeps its place.
Your brand goes on the header and the tray front, the panels that face the customer. If the display is to be refilled, we build it in stronger board with a tray shape that loose units drop back into easily, and can add a scuff-resistant varnish so it keeps looking fresh.
Which finishes give wellness packaging a natural, calm feel?
Kraft or uncoated board with soft colours and one considered detail usually suits a wellness brand better than heavy shine.
Kraft board gives a warm, handmade look, though colours print darker on brown board. Where colour bands tell scents or oils apart, we print a white ink layer under each band so they stay clear. White board gives the crispest colour if your palette is pale.
For a quiet touch of detail, we recommend Embossing & Debossing on a logo, a small area of Gold, Silver & Rose Gold Foiling, or a matt Lamination or Varnish. A varnish or inside coating also helps the board resist oil from fragrant bars and candles.
- Kraft or uncoated board for a natural look
- White ink under colours on kraft
- Embossing or a small foil detail rather than all-over shine
What details help you build a wellness box right first time?
Send us each product's measurements as it is packed, with caps, lids and wrapping on, and tell us how it will be sold.
Bottles, jars and bars vary more than people expect: a roller bottle is taller than a dropper bottle of the same size, and a handmade bar shrinks slightly as it cures. Measure the finished, wrapped product at its widest points, and list every item that goes into a kit.
Tell us too whether the box sits on a shelf, hangs on a peg, goes on a counter or is posted, and send the wording each panel must carry. We draw the dieline from that, then send a digital proof so you can check the fit and the look before anything is printed.
