Sandwich boxes are folded paperboard packs for cold, ready-made sandwiches - most often the triangular wedge that shows a cut sandwich through a front window. Rectangular versions hold baguettes, subs and wraps. They are built for chillers and grab-and-go shelves, where the box has to keep the bread fresh, stand up neatly and show what is inside.

Brand the wedge, show the filling.
Artwork and materialsArtwork sits around the window over the cut filling, with a flat panel kept clear for each filling's label. Your brand prints on every box, and only the label changes. Our packaging guides cover sizing, materials, print, and cost in more depth.
Front, window and label panel
We frame the window with your design, place the logo where it faces out on a chiller shelf, and leave a flat panel sized to your ingredients and allergen label.
Explore print and finishesCoated board and window film
Coated board stays crisp in the chiller and keeps print sharp through condensation. Kraft gives a deli look, and a plant-based window film or a tear-off window panel keeps the filling on show.

Cost factorsEvery project is quoted individually. These are the choices that move the price on almost every order.
- Window
- A clear film window is an extra material and an extra gluing step.
- Shape
- Wedges for cut sandwiches and long boxes for subs need different dies.
- Tamper seal
- A tear strip or sticker seal adds a little cost for a lot of trust.
- Moisture coating
- Chilled shelves cause condensation, which a coated board handles better.
Choosing this format
The wedge sandwich box
A triangle box holds a diagonally cut sandwich with the filling facing out.
The cut face is the most appealing view of a sandwich, so wedge boxes put a window over it. On a chiller shelf the wedges stand on their long edge, which makes a neat, readable row.
Wraps, baguettes and subs do not fit a wedge, so we make long rectangular boxes for them, with a window along the top.
- Window over the cut filling
- Stands on its long edge
- Long boxes for subs and wraps
Cold, not hot
Sandwich boxes are designed for the fridge, which brings its own problems.
Moving from a cold chiller to a warm room makes condensation form on the box. Coated board resists going limp, and keeping the window film tight stops it fogging over. Fillings with dressings or tomato need the base to resist moisture too.
Labels and tamper seals
Pre-packed sandwiches carry ingredient and allergen labels, so leave room for them.
Most cafes print the brand on the box and add a label per filling. We keep a flat panel clear of folds for that label, sized to the one you already use, and a tear strip or seal sticker shows customers the pack has not been opened.
Questions about sandwich boxes.
Box style FAQsWe’ll confirm the exact details that apply to your structure and volume.
Read all frequently asked questionsWhat size wedge fits a thick or deep-filled sandwich?+
We make wedges in a standard depth and deeper versions for thick or triple-layer sandwiches. Send us the size of your bread slice and the full thickness of your fullest filling, and we add a little space so the lid closes without squashing it. A loaf with larger slices needs a longer wedge, not only a deeper one, and we size for that too.
Is there room on a sandwich box for the ingredients and allergen label?+
Yes. We leave a clear flat panel on the box for the label each filling has to carry, so it sits flat and reads cleanly on the chiller shelf. Tell us the size of the label you use and we lay the panel out on your digital proof. Your brand is printed on every box, and only the label changes per filling.
Do sandwich wedges arrive ready to fill?+
Yes. We supply wedges flat with the window already fitted and the side seam glued. They open into shape by hand, the sandwich halves go in through the end, and the end flap closes over. That is quick in a small kitchen. Keep the flat wedges somewhere dry, so they hold their shape crisply on the chiller shelf.
Can a sandwich box be made without a plastic window?+
Yes. We can fit a plant-based window film instead of plastic, so the filling still shows on the shelf. For the simplest sorting after use, we can also make the wedge with a tear-off window panel, or as a fully board box with no window and the filling shown on the printed front or the label.
