Snack boxes cover multipacks of bars and bags, variety and tasting boxes, and snack subscription and office boxes. Most snacks are sealed in their own wrappers, so the box groups them, protects them and sells them. Display-ready cartons that open into a counter tray are common for bars and single-serve packs.

What changes the price.

Cost factors

Every project is quoted individually. These are the choices that move the price on almost every order.

Format
A shelf multipack is a simple carton; a variety mailer with dividers takes more board and parts.
Display features
Perforated tear-off lids and header cards add die work.
Board strength
Heavier multipacks need thicker board or corrugated to stay square.
Versions
One print per flavour means more set-ups than a single shared design.
Buyer guidance

Choosing this format

Multipack, variety or subscription?

Decide whether the box sells one product many times or many products once - the inside layout follows from that.

A multipack holds several of the same bar or bag in a neat row, and the box is mostly a shelf billboard. A variety or tasting box mixes shapes and sizes, so it usually needs dividers or a fitted insert to look full and stay tidy.

Subscription and office snack boxes travel by post or courier, which points to corrugated mailer boxes rather than retail cartons.

Turning the box into a counter display

A perforated front or lid lets a shipping carton of bars become a display tray at the till.

Shelf-ready snack cartons are designed to be torn along a perforation so the top comes away and the products face the shopper. Retailers favour them because they save restocking time.

The perforation has to be strong enough to survive transit but clean to tear, so we place it from the weight of a full carton and you check the tear line on the dieline and digital proof.

Pack details on a mixed box

When a box holds several products, each wrapper usually carries its own label and the box carries the pack-level details.

Allergen and ingredient information usually sits on each individually wrapped item, and the outer box often carries contents, net quantity and allergen notes as well. We leave room for the details your pack must carry and lay them out on the proof, with nut and gluten notes kept easy to find.

Box style FAQs

Read all frequently asked questions
How do you size a box for snack bars?+

Send us one wrapped bar and the count, and tell us how the bars should sit. Bars lying flat in stacks make a low, wide carton, while bars standing on end make a taller box that displays well once the front is torn off. We allow a few millimetres of slack so the last bar slides in without creasing the wrapper.

Can loose snacks such as nuts or crisps go in a snack box?+

Yes, in a sealed bag or lined pouch inside the box. Nuts carry oil that marks board, and crisps and crackers stay crisp only when sealed, so we size the box around the filled pouches. If any snack will touch the board directly, we confirm the board and coating are suitable for direct food contact before production.

Can one box design work for several flavours?+

Yes. We can print one shared design and mark each flavour with a flavour sticker, a coloured band or a printed checkbox, so one print run covers the whole range. It costs less to set up than a separate print for each flavour. Many brands start with a shared box and move best-sellers to their own print later.

Will bagged crisps arrive uncrushed in a snack box?+

Yes. We size the box to the filled bags so they are held but not squeezed, since crisp bags rely on their air to cushion the contents, and we make the walls strong enough to take other boxes stacked on top. For posted snack boxes we use corrugated board, which holds its shape far better than a light folding carton.
