Pizza slice boxes are triangular or wedge-shaped cartons that hold one slice, made for by-the-slice shops, stadiums, school canteens and events. They keep the slice flat, the cheese off the lid and the base from sagging in the hand. Compared with a paper plate, they keep a slice warm for a walk and give the shop a branded pack for every sale.

Make the slice box a billboard.
Artwork and materialsThe lid top faces the customer as the box is handed over, so it carries the main design. The long side walls suit a logo or social handle, kept clear of the narrow tip. Our packaging guides cover sizing, materials, print, and cost in more depth.
Lid, side walls and tip
We place your main design on the triangular lid, put a logo or web address on the long side walls, and keep fine detail away from the narrow tip where a hand covers it.
Explore print and finishesPaperboard, kraft or E-flute
Grease-resistant paperboard keeps print clear of oil, and kraft gives a classic pizzeria feel. Corrugated E-flute holds heat a little better and still takes a bold full-colour design on the lid.

Cost factorsEvery project is quoted individually. These are the choices that move the price on almost every order.
- Board type
- Thin corrugated keeps heat better than paperboard but costs a little more.
- Slice size
- Large New York style slices need a longer wedge than a standard slice.
- Grease resistance
- Treated board stops oil showing through the print.
- Full colour costs more than a one-colour logo.
Choosing this format
How a slice box differs from a pizza box
It holds one slice that is often eaten within minutes, so speed and grip matter more than stacking.
A whole pizza box has to stack in a car and survive a delivery. A slice box is handed over a counter and opened soon after, so it is lighter, folds quickly, and is shaped like the slice itself. The wedge shape keeps the slice from sliding around and makes it easy to hold in one hand.
- Wedge shape matches the slice
- Quick to fold at a busy counter
- Light enough to hold while eating
Cheese, steam and the lid
Hot cheese sticks to whatever touches it, so the lid should clear the slice.
Leave enough height that the lid does not press on the topping. A small vent lets steam out so the base stays firm. For counters where the slice is eaten straight away, we make an open-front version that avoids trapped steam altogether.
Matching the wedge to your slice
Slice sizes vary a lot between pizza styles.
A wide New York slice, a thick Sicilian square and a standard 12-inch slice need different boxes. Measure your largest slice, including any crust that overhangs, and size the wedge to it.
Questions about pizza slice boxes.
Box style FAQsWe’ll confirm the exact details that apply to your structure and volume.
Read all frequently asked questionsCan two slices fit in one slice box?+
Yes, in a double-slice box. We make it wider, so the two slices sit side by side or tip to tail rather than stacked, which would crush the toppings and stick the cheese together. If two-slice deals are common on your menu, we can make a double-slice size alongside your single-slice box in the same design.
Do pizza slice boxes arrive flat or ready-made?+
They arrive flat and fold into shape with locking tabs, with no glue needed. At a busy counter or event, staff usually fold a stack before service starts. If speed matters more than storage space, we can also make pre-glued versions that pop open faster, though they take up more room before use.
Can a slice box sit under a heat lamp or in a warmer?+
Yes, for short holding times, and for a warmer we recommend our open-front slice box. A closed box under a lamp holds steam against the base, while an open front lets it escape so the crust stays firmer. For the crispest slice, box it when it is ordered rather than holding boxed slices in advance.
Can slice boxes be used for cake, pie or quiche slices?+
Yes, as the wedge shape suits most round food cut into portions. Cake and cheesecake are often taller than a pizza slice, so for those we recommend our cake slice boxes, made with a taller wall and a closed top without vent holes. A window helps sell sweet slices on a counter.
Where does branding go on a pizza slice box?+
The lid top is the main panel, as it faces the customer when the box is handed over, so we put your main design there. The long side walls are narrow but seen while the slice is eaten, so they suit a logo, web address or social handle. We keep fine detail off the narrow tip, where the panel is small and the hand usually covers it.
