Choosing hotels & hospitality packaging

What goes in a hotel amenity range, and which box suits each item?

Most ranges are a soap bar plus a handful of small kits, so we give each one the box that fits it: a sleeve or wrap for soap, a slim tuck-end carton for each kit, and a tray with a lid or sleeve for a set of bottles.

The usual guest room line-up is soap, a dental kit, a shaving kit, a vanity kit with cotton pads and buds, a sewing kit and a shower cap, with a comb or nail file in some rooms. We make Custom Soap Boxes for the bar and Custom Hotel Amenity Boxes for the kits.

A range has more items than it needs carton sizes. Where two kits are close in size, we put them in the same carton and change only the print, so the range stays easy to store and reorder. Send us the size of each item as it comes to you, in its wrap or sachet, and tell us roughly how many rooms you stock, and we work out the carton sizes from there.

  • Soap: a sleeve, wrap or small carton
  • Dental, shaving, vanity and sewing kits: slim tuck-end cartons
  • Bottle sets: one shallow box with a lid or sleeve

Will amenity boxes stay looking fresh in a steamy bathroom?

Yes. We choose the board and the finish for a warm, damp room, so the cartons keep their shape and print through splashes, steam and wet hands.

Coated board gives the crispest colour and copes well with bathroom humidity, and we add a Varnish or Lamination over the print so the carton shrugs off knocks on the trolley and drips on the vanity unit. If your hotel has a natural or spa-style look, we can use kraft or uncoated board instead, with a protective coating where it matters.

On a small panel we keep your hotel mark clean and the item name large and clear. One finishing touch, such as a foil logo from our Gold, Silver & Rose Gold Foiling or a debossed crest, goes further on a tiny panel than several effects together.

Are amenity boxes quick for housekeeping to stock and restock?

Yes. We deliver your cartons flat and packed by item, and we print the item name on the end panel, so your team can pick the right kit from a trolley tray at a glance.

Flat cartons take up little room in a linen store, and filled kits stand in the trolley trays with their ends facing out, so a room attendant never has to lift a kit to check what it is.

Guests expect toiletries to be untouched, so we finish each kit with a small seal sticker across the opening, a paper band or a lightly glued tuck flap. We make the seal easy to open with damp fingers.

  • Item name and colour on the end panel
  • Packed by item, so stock goes straight onto the right shelf
  • A seal or band that shows the kit is new

Can every hotel in a group use the same amenity design?

Yes. We build one design family that every property shares, with the same carton sizes, colours and layout, and a set place for each hotel's own name where you want it.

For a group, we start from your brand guidelines: send us your Pantone references and we print every carton to them, so the soap box in one hotel matches the dental kit in another. Keeping the carton sizes the same across the group means one set of dielines serves every property, and a reorder for any hotel matches what is already on its shelves.

Where each property has its own name or crest, Custom Sleeve Boxes are a neat answer: the plain tray or carton underneath stays the same for the whole group, and only the printed sleeve changes from one hotel to the next. We show every version on the digital proof, so your brand team can approve the whole family side by side before anything is printed.

What packaging suits turndown gifts and welcome treats?

We make small gift boxes for the treat left on the pillow or the welcome waiting on the desk, from a two-piece truffle box to a pillow box holding a card or a small keepsake.

Custom Truffle Boxes suit a pair of chocolates at turndown, with each piece seated in its own cavity so it reaches the pillow unmarked. Custom Pillow Boxes hold a wrapped sweet, a lip balm or a small keepsake, and close without glue. For a larger arrival treat in a suite, Custom Chocolate Boxes hold a fuller selection. For anything edible, we confirm the board is suitable for direct food contact before production.

Welcome gifts often greet a named guest or mark an occasion. We keep one box design for every room and personalise it with a printed sticker, a belly band or a name tag, so you can add a guest's name or a short note on the day without holding stock tied to any one stay.

How should a hotel spa package the products it sells?

We design spa retail packaging to match the amenities guests have already used in their room and treatment, so the product they enjoyed is the one they recognise on the shelf.

Many spas sell the soap, body lotion and oils used in their treatments. We make Custom Soap Boxes for bars, and Custom Folding Cartons for bottles, jars and tubes, sized around each container with its cap or pump on. A tuck-end carton gives room for the ingredient list and directions on the back, which a small in-room bottle has no space for.

The retail box can carry a little more than the room kit: Embossing & Debossing on the logo, a soft matt Lamination, or a window that shows the product. We keep the colours and type the same as your in-room range, so the shelf in the spa reception looks like part of the same stay.

Which paper bags suit a hotel boutique, spa or deli counter?

We make Custom Paper Bags in a few sizes for each counter: small and premium for spa and boutique purchases, and food bags with a grease-resistant inside for pastries and snacks to go.

A spa or gift shop bag is part of the present, so rope or ribbon handles and coated paper give it a finished, luxury feel, and we can print the inside with a colour or pattern the guest sees as they look in. For an all-paper bag, we recommend twisted or flat paper handles with an unlaminated finish.

A lobby café or deli needs something different: a square-bottom bag that stands flat on the counter, with a grease-resistant inside for warm pastries and a seal sticker across the top. Tell us the largest item each counter sells and we size each bag around it, then carry the same print across every size, so a guest leaving the spa and one leaving the café carry the same hotel name.

  • Spa and boutique: rope or ribbon handles, printed inside
  • Café and deli: grease-resistant food bag with a seal
  • One print across every size

What still needs a box when a hotel switches to refill dispensers?

The single-use kits do: dental, shaving, vanity and sewing kits, the soap bar and any turndown gift. We keep those cartons simple, and where only a few items remain, we put them together in one printed box.

Dispensers take care of shampoo and body wash, but a toothbrush or razor still reaches the guest sealed. For a slimmed-down range, one of our Custom Welcome Kit Boxes holding the few remaining items can replace a row of separate cartons on the vanity unit, and housekeeping restocks one piece instead of five.

We keep these cartons all paper, using uncoated board or a water-based coating instead of a plastic laminate, with no film window. If you want a line about the packaging printed on the box, we word it to describe the carton itself, since many toothbrushes and razors inside are still plastic, and lay it out on the proof.
