BoxifyMEYour brand, just way more boxified

Beard oil boxes start with a slim carton for a small dropper bottle, much like a serum box but usually styled for grooming brands: darker colours, kraft board and bold type. Many brands also sell kits, where oil, balm, a comb and sometimes scissors share a box with a shaped insert. The kit box often matters more than the single carton, because it is bought as a gift.

What changes the price.

Cost factors

Every project is quoted individually. These are the choices that move the price on almost every order.

Single or kit
A kit box with several shaped cut-outs needs a larger, more complex insert than a single carton.
Board colour
Dark or black boards and full ink coverage cost more than kraft or white board with light print.
Insert material
Card inserts are simplest; foam or wrapped inserts hold tools more neatly but cost more.
Finishes
Foil and embossing on dark board are popular for grooming and each add a step.
Buyer guidance

Choosing this format

The single bottle carton

Beard oil usually comes in a small dropper bottle, so the carton is slim, tall and close-fitting.

Most beard oils are sold in 30ml glass bottles with a dropper, so the sizing rules are the same as for a serum: measure with the dropper fitted and keep the clearance small. A base or neck insert stops the bottle from rattling, which matters more for a brand selling online.

Kraft board is popular for its natural, workshop feel; black board with foil gives a more barbershop or premium look.

  • Measure with the dropper on
  • Kraft for natural, black for premium
  • Insert stops rattling

Designing a grooming kit

A kit box is built around its insert, which has to hold bottles, tins and tools of different shapes.

A typical kit holds a bottle of oil, a tin of balm and a comb or brush, sometimes with scissors. Each item needs its own cut-out at the right depth so the top surfaces sit level when the lid opens. Lay the items out on paper first to settle the arrangement, then send us each item's measurements and we draw the insert to match.

Metal scissors and combs can scratch printed board, so a foam insert, a wrapped insert or a small pouch protects both the tool and the box.

Gift sets and seasons

Grooming kits sell heavily as gifts, so a sleeve or lid design that can change with the season is useful.

A plain kit box with a printed sleeve lets the same box and insert be used all year. We print a new sleeve for holidays or special editions, so the expensive part, the insert, stays the same while the outside changes.

Text for the kit and each product

In a kit, the outer box and each product inside usually carry their own text, so plan both together.

Ingredient lists, net contents, the maker's details and a batch code are the typical items, and oils made with essential oils often carry warnings as well. Keeping the kit box and the product labels in one artwork plan stops the set saying different things in different places.

Box style FAQs

Read all frequently asked questions
Can you make a box for a beard balm or wax tin?+

Yes. Balm and wax tins are short and round, so we make them a square carton, a slim sleeve or a cut-out in a kit insert rather than a bottle carton. In a kit, we set the cut-out depth so the tin lid sits level with the top of the oil bottle and comb, which makes the layout look even when the box opens.

Can beard oil boxes be made in black?+

Yes. For a dark look we recommend black-through board, which is dark all the way through, so folds and edges stay black instead of showing white board where full black ink can crack. A matte finish suits it, though matte and soft-touch pick up fingerprints with heavy handling. For a carton that will be handled a lot, kraft hides scuffs best.

Can a beard grooming kit be posted as a gift?+

Yes, inside a mailer box, because a lidded gift box is not built for parcel handling. Inside the kit, we cut the insert to hold the oil bottle upright and firmly, since it is the heaviest and most breakable item and could crack against a metal tool. Sheath or wrap scissor blades before packing so they cannot cut through the insert.

Is a beard oil box the same as a serum box?+

Structurally they are close, as both are slim cartons for small dropper bottles, so we can often use the same carton size as a serum box. The difference is styling and how it sells. Beard oil leans on kraft, dark board and bold type, and sells strongly as a kit or gift, so we usually spend more time planning the kit box than the single carton.
