Shawarma boxes hold wraps, kebabs and shawarma plates - sliced meat with rice, salad, fries and sauces. Wrap versions are long and narrow to hold a rolled shawarma upright; plate versions are wide clamshells with room for several parts of the meal. Both have to deal with hot meat juices and garlic and tahini sauces, which soak plain board quickly.

Brand the wrap and the platter.
Artwork and materialsArtwork covers the narrow lid of a wrap box or the wide lid of a platter clamshell. Because platter boxes open flat as a plate, the inside of the lid can carry your brand too. Our packaging guides cover sizing, materials, print, and cost in more depth.
Wrap lids and platter lids
We fit your design to the long wrap box lid and the wide platter lid with one shared look, and keep text clear of the hinge and folds where the box opens out flat.
Explore print and finishesCoated board or kraft
Grease-resistant and coated paperboard keep print clean against meat juices and garlic sauce. Kraft with a barrier lining gives a warm grill-house look, while white board makes bright colour and food photography stand out.

Cost factorsEvery project is quoted individually. These are the choices that move the price on almost every order.
- Style
- Narrow wrap boxes and wide platter clamshells are different sizes and dies.
- Barrier coating
- Meat juices and sauces need a coated inside, which costs more than plain board.
- Compartments
- Dividers to keep salad, rice and sauce apart add parts or complexity.
- Full colour costs more than one colour on kraft.
Choosing this format
Wrap box or platter box
A shawarma wrap and a shawarma plate need very different boxes.
A wrap is long and round, so a narrow box or tray keeps it from rolling and holds its foil or paper wrapping in place. A plate brings meat, rice, salad, pickles and fries together, so it needs a wide clamshell - often with a divider to stop the salad wilting against hot meat.
- Narrow box for wraps
- Wide clamshell for plates
- Dividers keep hot and cold apart
Garlic sauce, tahini and juices
Shawarma is juicy and sauced, and that is what tests the box.
Hot meat juices and oily sauces collect at the bottom of the box. A coated or barrier-lined inside keeps the board firm and stops the print staining. Sauces are often best in sealed pots on the side, especially for delivery, so the bread stays dry until eaten.
Flatbread, fries and trapped steam
Flatbread and wraps go soggy in trapped steam.
A small vent or a lid that is not fully sealed lets some moisture out, and we can cut that vent into the lid for you. Packing fries in their own section or a separate fry box keeps them from steaming under the meat.
Questions about shawarma boxes.
Box style FAQsWe’ll confirm the exact details that apply to your structure and volume.
Read all frequently asked questionsShould a shawarma wrap be foiled before it goes in the box?+
Either works, as we size our wrap boxes to the wrapped shawarma. Foil holds the wrap tight and keeps it hot, and many shops use it, though it traps steam against the bread on a long trip. A paper wrap breathes a little more. Whichever you use, the box stops the wrap rolling and being squashed in the bag.
How big should a shawarma plate box be?+
Lay out a full plate as you serve it, with rice, meat, salad, pickles, fries and any bread, and send us the measurements. Rice and meat stacked together need more depth than a flat salad, and we size the box for that. A box for your largest platter, with a smaller version for single plates, usually covers a whole menu.
Can a shawarma box also be used for kebabs, falafel and mixed grills?+
Yes. Our wide platter clamshells suit most plated grills and falafel. For kebabs served on the skewer, we can make the box long enough for the skewer, or the meat can come off it before packing. Falafel stays crisper with a vent, as it softens in trapped steam much like fries, so we can add vents to the lid.
Can a platter box be eaten from like a plate?+
Yes. Our platter clamshells open out flat, so the base works as a plate and the lid can hold bread or extras. That suits late-night customers and office lunches eaten at a desk. We give the inside a coating that keeps the board firm while the meal is eaten, as sauce and juices sit in the base the whole time.
