Nail polish boxes are small square cartons for single glass bottles, or wider boxes with cavity inserts for sets of shades, base and top coats. The bottles are heavy for their size and the caps are tall, so the inside dimensions follow the cap more than the bottle. A window or printed swatch shows the shade, which is what most buyers choose by.

What changes the price.

Cost factors

Every project is quoted individually. These are the choices that move the price on almost every order.

Single or set
A small single-bottle carton is cheap per unit; a set box with an insert costs more.
Insert
A cavity insert is cut for the bottle shape and needs its own cutting tool.
Shade versions
Each shade with its own artwork or swatch is a separate print version.
Window
A die-cut window with film adds material and a fitting step.

Choosing this format

Sizing for bottle and cap

Polish caps are often taller and wider than the bottle neck, so measure the full bottle with the cap on.

Many polish bottles have a long brush cap that makes up a third or more of the height, and some have shaped or oversized caps for grip. The widest point may be the cap, not the bottle.

Glass polish bottles are heavy for their size. A crash-lock base, or a tight tuck with a good-sized flap, keeps the base closed when the carton is lifted.

  • Measure with the cap on
  • Cap may be the widest point
  • Heavy glass needs a firm base

Inserts for polish sets

Sets need each bottle held apart, so glass does not knock against glass.

A board or pulp insert with a cavity for each bottle keeps them upright and separate. Bottles of different shapes - a base coat and a coloured polish, for example - need cavities cut to each shape.

Lay out the set so it reads well when the lid comes off: shades in order, with base and top coats at the ends.

Window or printed swatch?

Shade sells polish, so either show the bottle or print a swatch that is close to it.

A window box lets the real colour show through, which no print can fully match - especially for shimmer, glitter and holographic finishes. A printed swatch is cheaper and works well for cream shades: send us a colour reference for each one and check the swatches on the digital proof.

Shade names and numbers help with re-ordering, so print them where they can be read when cartons sit in a row.

Warnings for a flammable formula

Polish is often flammable, which affects warnings on the pack and how it can be posted.

Many nail polishes and removers contain flammable solvents, so the outer pack usually carries warnings next to the ingredient list, and some carriers limit how polish travels, especially by air. We keep a clear panel for that text and show it on the proof at a size that reads easily.

Questions about nail polish boxes.

Box style FAQs

We’ll confirm the exact details that apply to your structure and volume.

Read all frequently asked questions
Do you make boxes for gel polish and press-on nail kits?+

Yes, both. Gel polish bottles are usually opaque, so we print a colour swatch on the carton rather than cut a window. Press-on kits are flatter, so we make a shallow box with a card tray that holds the nails, glue, file and prep pad in fixed places. We size it to the nail tray, not a bottle, and give each part its own cut-out so nothing gets lost.

How do you keep a nail polish bottle upright in its box?+

We size the carton closely to the bottle and cap, or add a small card insert that holds the bottle at its base or neck, so it stands upright and cannot rattle. An upright bottle keeps the polish away from the cap thread, and we can use a coated board inside that wipes clean. Tightening caps fully before boxing helps for the same reason.

Do you print a different carton for every nail polish shade?+

We can, but you do not have to. Many brands print one carton for the whole range and show the shade with a printed panel, a shade sticker or a window that shows the bottle. That keeps print versions down when a range has dozens of shades. Separate designs per shade give a stronger shelf row, and printing them together keeps the shared colours matching.

Can nail polish boxes work on a counter or peg display?+

Yes. We can add a hang tab to single-bottle cartons for pegs, or make an open display tray that lines the shades up side by side on a counter. A tray often hides the lower part of each carton, so we place the shade name and swatch high on the front or on the top panel.
